Serving your own professionally decorated cake is an impressive way to wow your guests. If you are crafty and artistic or simply willing to try, edible glitter is a relatively new method to add pizazz and excitement to an otherwise basic cake. This cool and sparkly decoration is available in any color so you can use it to enhance a wide variety of cakes, cookies and cupcakes, no matter their theme.
Things You'll Need
- Edible glitter in color(s) of your choice
- Stencils (optional)
Choose edible glitter in colors that match your icing. The best look is glitter that is the same shade as the icing as it enhances the look, as opposed to a contrasting color that stands out.
Frost your cake with the icing of your choice.
Sprinkle the glitter on top of the icing while it is still wet so that it will stick. For a specific shape, gently place a stencil on top of the icing, taking care not to press down, and sprinkle glitter directly into the stencil.
