How do I Set Up Internet Parental Controls on a Daughter's Computer?
All Microsoft Windows operating systems have a monitor utility to block undesirable websites from being accessed. Use this Windows tool to keep your daughter from viewing online content that you find unsuitable. Aside from the Windows Parental Controls utility, you may also wish to purchase additional child monitoring software programs to review your child's activity on the computer.

Click the "Start" button and go to "Control Panel". Select "Internet Options" on the "Control Panel" screen.

Select the "Content" tab at the top of the "Internet Options" window. Click the "Enable" button under the "Content Adviser" section.

Choose the "Ratings" tab. Click the key icon next to "Language." Use the slider on the window to adjust the displaying language level for your screen. Press the "Apply" button then "OK" to apply the setting.

Click the key icon next to "Sex." Use the slider to adjust the sexual content level you wish to block. Press the "Apply" button then "OK" to save the setting.

Click the key icon next "Violence." Use the slider to choose the level of violence content you wish to allow on your computer. To save the setting, click "Apply" then "OK."

Find and select the "General" tab on top of your screen. Put a check mark in the box of "Users can see sites that have no rating." Press the "OK" button then "Apply" to bring up the password window.

Enter your password in the text box on the security pop-up window. Re-type to confirm the password in the second text box. Click "OK."

Press "OK" on the pop-up Content Adviser warnings window. This will lead you to the "Internet Properties" screen.

Click "OK" on the "Internet Properties" screen to activate your Internet parental controls.

You can create as many password-protected parental controls accounts in Windows as you want by repeating the article steps.
Activated "Parental Controls" will result in having a "password request" message appear on your screen due to the rated content of the website, which are not necessarily adult sites. You will need to type in the saved password when this happens to access the web page.
