How do I Get the Best Picture on a 500 Series Samsung 46-Inch TV?

The Samsung 500 series of televisions are high-definition LCD sets. These sets allow you to watch broadcast and video gaming in full, 1080 high-definition. In order to obtain the best picture quality on the TV, however, you need to select the best cable hook up for the TV and properly adjust the cable/satellite receiver to ensure your receiver the full 1080 high-definition picture on the Samsung 500 series, 46-inch television.

Instructions

1. Contact your cable or satellite provider and request to upgrade to the HD package. If you do not upgrade to this service you are unable to watch high-definition television on the Samsung 500 series TV.

2. Connect the HDMI cable into the HDMI "Out" port on the HD cable/satellite receiver. Insert the other end of the cable into one of the HDMI "In" ports on the Samsung 500 series, 46-inch television.

3. Power on the TV and the cable/satellite receiver. Push the "Menu" button on the receiver's remote control, then choose "Options."

4. Select "Aspect Ratio" (note that the exact phrasing might differ slightly, depending on the cable provider you are using). Choose "1080" as the image resolution and press "OK." This adjusts the broadcast so your Samsung 500 television receives the best possible picture.
