How do I Refill a Butane Pig Lighter?

Butane is required to sustain a flame.

A lighter has many useful purposes such as lighting candles or lighting a charcoal BBQ grill, but now they are being made for entertainment as well. A pig-shaped butane lighter is a great conversation starter at a party or just a fun knickknack to have on your shelf at home. When you press the hat on the top of the pig's head, it will light a flame which comes out of its nostrils. It is a fun accessory that is relatively inexpensive and also refillable for endless usage.

Things You'll Need

• Butane refill

Instructions

1. Hold the pig in one hand with the back-end facing your other hand. With your other hand, hold the butane refill container at a slight angle.

2. Insert the needle from the butane refill into the top hole in the back-end of the lighter. Push the needle in until it stops.

3. Hold the butane refill steady at a slight angle and it will begin to fill the lighter. You will be able to feel when the lighter is full as the refill container will begin to slightly push away from the lighter.

4. Pull the refill out of the lighter and wipe off any excess butane fluid from the lighter.

Tips & Warnings

• Never refill a lighter by an open flame.
