How do I Troubleshoot an LG 22 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator That Does Not Cool?

Save

The LG 22.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator has the freezer compartment installed on the bottom with the two French doors on the top of the unit. The unit is equipped with a LED touch pad with four digital temperature sensors. The touch pad makes it easy to set the proper freezer and refrigerator temperatures to ensure the items stored in the unit stay cold. When you notice your LG 22.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator is not keeping cool, there can be a few different reasons as to why. It's important to troubleshoot the refrigerator properly to ensure your food stays cool and does not go bad.

  • Determine if you have added a large amount of food to the refrigerator. Adding items to the refrigerator will cause the unit to warm up, and it will take a few hours for the unit to completely cool again.

  • Check the temperature control dial. The temperature shows a range from one to seven. One is the warmest setting, and seven is the coldest setting. Move the setting one number closer to seven. Allow the refrigerator to stabilize at the new setting for 24 hours. If the refrigerator is still warm, move the dial up one more setting. Repeat this process until you reach number seven or the refrigerator is cool.

  • Locate the air vents in the LG refrigerator. The refrigerator air vents are located inside the refrigerator near the top of the unit. The freezer vent is located in the back top part of the freezer.

  • Remove any items that may be blocking the air vents. The air must be able to circulate and travel properly in order to cool the interior of the LG refrigerator. Your refrigerator should now be cooler.
