Feet are particularly prone to dry skin because the feet are often overlooked when skin is moisturized and some shoes can chafe the skin, creating rough patches. Softening dry, cracked skin on feet can be done with frequent applications of a moisturizing balm, which can be made at home with a few ingredients. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Unscented baby lotion
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Olive oil
  • Vitamin E cream
  • Essential oil
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon
  • Container with lid

Instructions

      Combine 15 oz. of non-scented, moisturizing baby lotion with 8 oz. of petroleum jelly in a large bowl.

      Add 1 tsp. honey and 1 tsp. vegetable oil to the mixture. Mix well. Include 1/4 tsp. lemon juice and stir.

      Include a few drops of scented essential oil if you want a scent to the balm. Ideas for light scents include lavender essential oil, almond essential oil, chamomile essential oil or a citrus-based essential oil.

      Stir the balm together and pour into a large container with a lid and store in a cool, dry place.

      Apply the balm to feet at least twice daily. Rub well into feet and cover with cotton socks at night to help the balm absorb into feet and moisturize the skin.
