Toyokalon hair extensions are used to create braids in your hair. They differ from other synthetic hair products, such as Kanekalon, because they have a curl at the bottom. A major concern for many women with Toyokalon hair is how to clean and care for it without losing the curl. Another common issue with Toyokolon hair is that it tangles easily. Follow a few basic care techniques to keep your Toyokalon hair looking good.
Things You'll Need
- Hair detangling spray
- Wide-toothed comb
- Plastic squirt bottle
- Mild shampoo
- Braid spray
Apply 1 tsp. of a hair detangling spray to the ends of each Toyokalon hair extension just below where the braid stops.
Comb through the bottom curled section of the braid with a wide-toothed comb to remove tangles and knots. Be careful not to over comb the hair, since the curl may straighten out.
Fill a plastic squirt bottle with a mixture of one part mild shampoo and five parts water. Place the top on the bottle and shake it for 10 to 20 seconds to mix the solution. Allow the bottle to sit for one minute to allow some of the soap suds to settle.
Lean your head over a sink and apply 1 to 2 tbsp. of the soap mixture to your scalp by squirting it out of the bottle slowly.
Massage your scalp gently with your fingertips to clean away any oil and dead skin cells.
Rinse your scalp thoroughly with clean water to remove all traces of the soap from your scalp.
Pat your scalp dry with a towel and then pat the remainder of the Toyokalon hair braids to remove moisture from them. Use firm pressure to remove as much moisture as possible, but not so much pressure that you damage or loosen the braids.
Allow the Toyokalon hair extensions to air dry completely before going to bed or putting your hair up.
