How do I Replace the Windshield Wipers on a 2008 Pontiac G6?

Wiper blades can be damaged by snow and ice.

The windshield wiper blades on the 2008 Pontiac G6 should be replaced whenever they become worn out or cracked. The blades can become damaged by extremely dusty conditions, sand and salt, or excessive heat and sun. Snow and ice can also damage the wiper blades if they is not properly removed. Wipers that streak can sometimes be fixed by cleaning them. In some cases, though, the streaks indicate damage to the wiper blades that warrant replacement.

• New wiper blades

1. Pull the windshield wiper arm out and away from the windshield.

2. Press the release button located on the end of the wiper arm.

3. Slide the windshield wiper blade forward. Rotate the wiper blade toward you and keep sliding the blade forward until it comes all the way out of the wiper arm.

4. Slide the new wiper blade into the arm connector. Line the grooved areas on the blade up with the grooves on the arm. Slide the blade into the connector until it locks into place. Repeat the steps for the other wiper blade.
