How do I Report Someone Who Is Lying on Their Indiana IRS Taxes?
Lying on your income tax return is called fraud, and tax fraud is a serious offense in the United States. Taxpayers that commit tax fraud and are caught doing so face hefty fines and possible jail time. If you suspect a resident of Indiana, or any state, of committing tax fraud, it is your duty to report that person to the Internal Revenue Service. An investigation of the alleged person or persons will take place to determine whether fraud was committed. If so, that person or persons will face monetary fines and time in jail.
