How to Apply Wallpaper Paste Quickly

Things You'll Need
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- Roller paint tray
- Small paint roller
- Damp sponge

Unroll the wallpaper, and cut it into sheets that measure 4 inches longer than the height of the wall.

Lay one cut sheet of wallpaper on a table, pattern side down. The paper should be at the edge of the table to ensure the wallpaper paste adheres to the edges of the paper completely, according to This Old House.

Pour clear, premixed wallpaper paste into a paint roller tray.

Using a small paint roller, roll it into the tray until it is evenly covered in paste.

Roll the paste-covered roller onto the wallpaper, covering the entire piece thoroughly.

Fold the pasted back of the wallpaper onto itself, according to This Old House. Make sure the sides and ends line up exactly, and smooth the paper together as much as possible without creasing the wallpaper.

Tips & Warnings
Paint the entire room with a wall primer/sizer before attaching wallpaper to the wall.
Do not get wallpaper paste on the table or it might harm the next sheet of wallpaper. If there is any paste on the table, remove it with a damp sponge before laying down the next piece of wallpaper.
Opt for prepasted wallpaper that comes with paste on it; activate the paste by using a damp sponge to wet the back of the paper.
