An EPA number is a unique identification number issued by the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA issues a wide variety of identification numbers, including numbers for pesticide permits and permits for hazardous waste sites and other regulated sites, businesses and facilities. The agency maintains a central database, and you can look up the EPA number of your business or facility using the online Facility Registry System.

      Type your business name into the "Facility Identification Option Value" text box and hit "Enter."

      Click on your business name in the "Facility Name" results field. This brings up a detailed report that includes your EPA identification number.

Tips & Warnings

  • Type in the exact name of your business and click on the "Exact Match" radio button before performing a search. If you enter a partial name, you could get thousands of hits. For example, entering "John" as a partial match returns a list of over 11,000 registrants.
