How do I Add an HP 7310 Printer to an Ethernet Network?

Wired Ethernet networks allow computers to interact with each other through Ethernet cable. In addition, If you have a wired Ethernet network full of computers that all need to print, Ethernet-ready printers such as the HP 7310 All-in-one Printer are capable of linking to an Ethernet network to let any computer on the network print documents.

Things You'll Need

• Router, modem or access point with Ethernet port
• Ethernet cable
• HP 7310 Installation CD

Instructions

1. Remove the yellow plug on the Ethernet port on the back of the printer.

2. Connect the printer's Ethernet port to the router, modem or wireless access point's Ethernet port using the Ethernet cable. Allow a few seconds for the router to recognize the printer.

3. Insert the Installation CD that came with the HP 7310 printer into the computers that will use the printer.

4. Follow the on-screen prompts that appear to install the printer to the computers.
