How to Make a 9 Volt Desk Lamp thumbnail
Revamp an electrical desk lamp so it may use 9-volt power.

Make a 9-volt desk lamp from an existing desk lamp with a plug-in cord. Use the cord and adapt the lamp to direct current by attaching a 9-volt battery housing. Cut the cord to the desired length. A good length to work with is 8 inches for beginners. Hide the battery housing inside the base of the desk lamp if it is large enough. Otherwise, place the battery housing behind the edge of the table to make it appear that it is plugged into the wall.
