How to Upload Photos to Google Earth
Google Earth now has a layer of photos that are taken by users and tagged for specific locations. So when you browse Google Earth, you can look at photos of a place that were taken by other people who visited. You can also upload your photos to be considered for inclusion in Google Earth. In 2007, Google acquired Panoramio, a company that allowed users to geotag and upload photos to share. Geotagging is when a photo is associated with the location the photo was taken. Google uses the geotagged photos from Panoramio to populate its location specific photo layer. They review photos on a regular basis (usually about once a month) and upload the approved photos to Google Earth.

Upload your photo(s) by clicking on the "Upload" tab and then browsing to the photo on your computer and selecting it. Create a title for the photo and then click "Map this photo" to specify the location for the picture. If you do not map the photo it will not be accepted into Google Earth.

Check to make sure your photo meets all of the acceptance requirements (found in the Resources section of this article). In general, the photo must be of the location specified, not of people or cars or anything else. The photo must not be profane, racist or contain nudity. You must geotag the photo. Once your photo has been reviewed an accepted into Google Earth, it will have the Panoramio icon (like a little compass) underneath it. From approval, it can take up to a month for the photo to be uploaded to Google Earth.
