Fortunately, conversion software let's you configure the file extension of the Divx file to play in any DVD player. Some software not only converts the Divx extension, but also burns the files to a DVD using one application.

      Purchase Divx-to-DVD conversion software. For example, convertXtoDVD is a software program that will convert your Divx file to a DVD format and burn the DVD disc for you. You can also configure the colors, title, menu, thumbnail and other aspects of the DVD based on how you want the DVD menu to look. Try the software on a trial basis to see if you like it.

      Open the conversion software. Click on the "Explorer" ("Browse") button within the conversion software. An explorer window will allow you to browse files currently installed on your computer.

      Select the file that you are interested in converting, and either double-click for it to be added to your conversion window or drag and drop the file into your conversion window. If there is enough room on your DVD, you can drag multiple files to be converted and burned to the same DVD.

      Click on the "Convert" button, and the software will convert the Divx format and burn to a DVD if you selected that option. If the software you have purchased also burns DVDs, there is nothing further you need to do.

      Open your DVD-burning software and drag and drop the newly converted Divx file into the DVD-burning window.

      Insert a blank DVD and burn.
