How to Fix Problems With the Epson Stylus Color Printer 640
The Epson Stylus 640 normally prints both text and graphics in either black and white or color using inkjet technology. While using the printer, you may notice the hardware stops working correctly or an error message appears on the computer's screen. You can troubleshoot the problem yourself instead of sending it away for servicing and save yourself the inconvenience of being without the printer.

Does Not Pick Up Paper
-
1
Depress the "Load/Eject" button on the printer's control panel. Wait to see if the printer will then pick up the paper.
-
2
Remove the paper from the input tray and examine it for damage such as wrinkles, tears or creases. Remove any damaged paper and then load it into the paper tray, pushing it until it stops.
-
-
3
Adjust the paper guides so they touch the edge of the paper stack without bowing it. Turn the printer off and then on again if the "Paper Out" is still flashing.
-
4
Remove the printer cable from both the printer and computer. Inspect the ends of the cable for any pieces of clear packing material, then plug the cable securely into both devices.
-
5
Depress the "Load/Eject" button again. If the paper still does not feed, take the printer to a repair shop.
