Plenty of cell phones allow you to block, or call bar, unwanted phone numbers. Unfortunately, you can not simply do this on your BlackBerry 8800 or any BlackBerry cell phone. However, there is a quick and simple way to call bar a variety of numbers through the BlackBerry App World. Call Blocker 2.0 for BlackBerry ($8.99 USD, as of 2010) can be downloaded through your BlackBerry phone and will block calls based time, name or phone number. You can send any unwanted calls right to your voice mail, or dismiss the call altogether.

Instructions

      Click on the "BlackBerry" symbol, located to the left of the roller ball or touch slider, to open the Main Menu.

      Click on "BlackBerry App World" from the Main Menu.

      Click on the "Magnifying Glass/Search" button.

      Type "Call Blocker 2.0" in the search box.

      Scroll down to "Call Blocker 2.0 for BlackBerry." It should be the very first option under the search key. Click your roller ball or touch slider to select the application.

      Select "Purchase" to purchase and download the application to your BlackBerry 8800.

      Click on the Call Blocker icon--a white phone with a red "X" over it inside of a green square--from the Main Menu.

      Add the contacts, names, number or even the time of day that you want numbers to be blocked.
