Homemade Food for Dogs With Kidney Failure

Homemade Food for Dogs With Kidney Failure thumbnail
Some brands of dog food contain large amounts of phosphorous, which can lead to kidney failure.

Kidney failure in dogs, also known as chronic renal failure (CRN), is a serious condition that can have a number of adverse effects on a dog. When the kidneys are in trouble, they are unable to filter blood, and toxins build up in the dog's system as a result. It's important to change a dog's diet when it is diagnosed with CRN. Homemade food that is low in sodium, phosphorous and protein can greatly improve the state of your dog's kidneys.
