You can tag people that appear in your Windows Live Photo Gallery pictures so you can search your photographs by name.

      Add photos to Windows Live Photo Gallery by connecting your digital camera or memory card or inserting a CD or DVD clicking the "Home" tab. Select "Import Photos" and choose the device containing the pictures you want to add in the "Import Photos and Video" dialogue box. Click "Import" to add the pictures to Windows Live Photo Gallery.

      Double-click a photo and click "Fine Tune" to manually adjust the brightness, contrast, shadows and highlights sliders to adjust the appearance of your photograph. In Fine Tune mode you can straighten, crop or remove red-eye from your photos using the menu.

      Change the file type of a photo by double clicking a picture and selecting "Edit" then "Make A Copy." From the dialogue box, select a file type from the drop down menu and a location for the new file, click "Save" to convert the picture.
