How to Import INDD Files to Corel
INDD is the native file format for Adobe InDesign, a comprehensive page layout program in the Adobe Creative Suite. If you're switching graphics programs or need to collaborate with someone using a different program, don't worry---you won't have to start over. CorelDRAW is a multifaceted graphics program that includes page layout, illustrations and photoediting capabilities, allows you to import different file formats and continue working with the document. Although you can't directly import an INDD, your best option is to convert the INDD file to a PDF, then import the PDF to Corel.

1
Open an INDD file in Adobe InDesign. Click the "File" menu, then "Export."

3
Select "Adobe PDF" from the "Format" (Mac OS) or the "Save as Type (Windows) menu. Click "Save." In the "Export Adobe PDF" dialog box, click "Export." Wait while InDesign creates the PDF.

4
Open CorelDRAW. Press "Ctrl + I" to import a file.

6
Specify whether you want to import the text as either text or curves. Choose "Text" if you have a lot of text and want to be able to edit it in CorelDRAW. Choose "Curves" if you have little text and don't need to edit it. It will convert the text to curves, maintaining the exact appearance of the text from your InDesign file.
-
7
Select the pages you want to import from the PDF if it is a multipage document. Click "OK."
-
8
Click the document to import the PDF. Press "Enter" to insert it into the center of the page, or click and drag to resize the PDF.
