A Gateway 7422 laptop case can be removed to access internal parts of the laptop, such as the cooling fan and motherboard. The laptop case protects the internal parts from dust, debris and accidents. Only remove the case for cleaning and replacing parts. Opening the case can void the manufacturer's warranty. It should only be attempted by those familiar with computer systems. If you are unsure how to complete the removal process, a laptop repair technician can assist you.
