How to Fix the Mouse in Dead Space for the PC

One of the biggest complaints about "Dead Space" for the PC is the lag time between the mouse and the on-screen actions. The sluggish behavior can be blamed on the vertical synchronization (v-sync), which locks your computer's frames per second (FPS) rate and causes a slight delay between the mouse and computer. Disabling v-sync should correct your mouse issues.

Instructions

Disable V-Sync Using Intel Graphics Card

1. Right-click on an empty part of your desktop screen. Scroll down and select "Graphics Properties."

2. Click "3-D Settings" in the "Intel Graphics Media" window.

3. Click on the "Value" box next to "Asynchronous Flip" and select "Off" from the drop-down menu. Hit "OK" to shut v-sync off. The "Dead Space" mouse issues should now be corrected.

Disable V-Sync Using NVidia Graphics Card

1. Right-click on an empty part of your desktop and select "NVidia Control Panel."

2. Click "Advanced Settings," then click "Manage 3-D Settings."

3. Click "Global Settings." Find the "Vertical Synchronization" option and slide the button to "Off." Hit "OK" and v-sync will be shut off.

Tips & Warnings

• If you find that turning v-sync off hasn't corrected the issues, visit your graphics card manufacturer's site to download the latest drivers, then try shutting v-sync off again.
