How to Share Hard Drives

Share Hardrives with Microsoft Windows.

Microsoft Windows operating systems allow users to share files and folders across a network and to share entire drives. Drives are simply recognized as another folder or directory and have the same sharing properties as regular folders and files in Windows. Each file, folder, printer and drive includes a set of sharing properties that allow the user to define what items will be shared, and the level of access for sharing users. Windows 7 makes sharing hard drives, as well as files, folders and printers, over the network an easy process to configure.

Click the "Windows Explorer" folder in the bottom left corner of the taskbar. Windows Explorer will open and list all drives in the left navigation pane.
