BitComet is a user-based BitTorrent download program that allows users of the software to share files between one another. These files range from small image and word processor documents to larger videos and even software downloads. Using BitComet is legal, as long as you stay away from downloading copy-protected material. If you find the download speed is lacking while attempting to obtain a particular file, there are a few methods of increasing the download speed of the software.

Instructions

1. Close out other Internet programs when attempting to download with BitComet. These other programs take away from the bandwidth of your BitComet BitTorrent software, slowing down the overall download of the files.

2. Download only one BitComet file at a time. Downloading multiple files, as with using multiple programs, splits off the bandwidth and reduces the overall download speed.

3. Look for available downloads that have multiple users. The number of users is listed next to the file name and size. The more individuals using the file the faster it downloads to your computer.

4. Increase your Internet connection speed through your Internet provider. The faster your Internet speed the faster it is going to download to your computer.
