How to Troubleshoot My Samsung 3561N Printer
From a small export business in Korea, Samsung grew to become a leading global electronics company, offering technology including television, video, computing, cell phones, camcorders and a large selection of printers. Although designed for use with computer networking, printing up to 35 pages per minute (ppm) with an optional 500-sheet paper tray, the Samsung 3561N appears small, rather than large and bulky. Troubleshooting your Samsung 3561N laser printer will help you save time and money in repairs.
Instructions
-
Printer Not Working
-
1
Plug the power cord into another electrical outlet, if you notice the button backlight turned off to your Samsung printer. You should see the "Online/Continue" button in green and the word "Ready" appearing on the display.
-
2
Confirm you have connected the cable securely between your computer and printer if your printer does not print.
-
-
3
Remove excess paper from the paper stack in the printer tray. If you have too much paper loaded, the paper will not feed properly into your printer. Reload the paper tray with a reduced amount of paper, then try to print again.
Paper Jams
-
4
Pull the paper out of your printer in the same direction that it prints, if the paper jams. Pull the paper evenly and firmly rather than jerking the paper--this will only rip the paper. Make certain you remove all bits of paper from the printer if it does rip; otherwise, you will have another paper jam.
-
5
Slide the paper tray out of your printer if you see "Paper Jam 0" displayed on your printer. Gently pull the jammed paper straight out, keeping the paper aligned in the paper tray. Stop pulling on the paper if you feel some resistance--remove the paper tray from the printer, then pull the jammed paper carefully out of your printer.
-
6
Pull the duplex unit straight out of your printer if you see "Duplex Jam 2" displayed. Remove the jammed paper once you see it, then reinsert the duplex unit into its slot.
-
7
Open the top of your Samsung printer, then close it to continue printing after fixing all paper jams.
Printing Problems
-
8
Remove and reinsert the toner cartridge in your printer if you see a page printed in a solid color or if you see horizontal stripes on the page. This may mean the toner cartridge was not correctly installed. If it happens again, you may have a defective toner cartridge--replace it with a new one.
-
9
Remove the paper from the paper tray, then turn the paper around if you see white areas in the print where it should be black--the printer probably printed on the wrong side of the paper's surface. You may also have the wrong paper type in the paper tray. Use quality, conventional 20-lb. paper for the best printing results. The multipurpose tray supports 16- to 43-lb. paper.
-
10
Store the paper around room temperature for ideal printing. Keep the humidity down in the room but not too dry.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid paper jams by not overloading the paper tray, not removing paper from the tray while printing, and not using damp, creased or curled paper. Also, do not mix different paper types in the paper tray, such as laser computer paper with cardstock paper.
