How to Delete Search History on a Mac
Delete your search history to protect your privacy and minimize security issues. The Mac's default Web browser, Safari, offers consumers a user-friendly interface and comes with convenient features that make accessing, recalling and saving your favorite sites easy. Many websites provide "Search" functions within their pages. Safari's AutoFill is designed to save you time by automatically suggesting previous inquires. You can delete a website's search history by removing it from Safari's AutoFill list.

Open Safari and click on the "Safari" tab in the menu at the top of the window.

Select "Preferences" from the drop-down list. This action will launch the Preferences window.

Click on the "AutoFill" tab at the top of the window.

Click the "Edit" button next to "Other Forms." A dialogue will open displaying all the websites where you have searched for something, or input form information into a field.

Click the "Remove All" button at the bottom of the dialogue to clear all of the websites' search history.

Delete a specific website's search history by clicking on the site name, and then selecting the "Remove" button at the bottom of the dialogue.

Click the "Done" button to close the window. This action will take you back to the main AutoFill tab window.

Click the small, red "Close" button in the top-left corner of the window to complete exit the process.

Tips & Warnings
You can also clear recent searches by clicking the small search icon in the search field on the Safari toolbar. Select "Clear Recent Searches" from the drop-down menu that appears.
