How to Install a Dell 720 Color Printer

The Dell 720 is a compact inkjet printer that offers photo-quality output and prints at a speed of up to 13 pages per minute. The Dell 720 printer comes equipped with all the accessories needed to properly install the printer. It's important to follow the required steps to ensure the printer is installed correctly.

Instructions

1. Place the Dell 720 printer near your computer on a level surface. It's important to have the printer on level surface for the best results.

2. Attach the power cord to the back of the Dell 720 and plug the other end into a grounded wall outlet. Press the "On" button located on the Dell 720 and allow the unit to power on. Do not continue the installation process until the power light stops blinking and is steady; this signals the printer is ready.

3. Unravel the USB cord. Connect the female end to the back of the Dell 720 and the male end to the USB port located on the computer. The computer will now recognize the Dell 720.

4. Open the front cover of the Dell 720 and allow the cartridge carrier to move to the installation position. Remove the tape from the back of the ink cartridges. Lift the tabs on the cartridge lids and place the ink cartridges into the carrier. Snap the lids down into place to secure the ink cartridges. Close the front cover of the unit.

5. Place the installation disk into the computer CD/DVD drive. The installation process will begin automatically. Follow the on-screen prompts to ensure the drivers and software for the printer are installed. When prompted, restart the computer. The Dell 720 is now installed and ready for printing.
