MyWebSearch, like many search engines, offers you a toolbar that you can download to your Internet browser. The MyWebSearch toolbar also provides you with easy access to Smiley Central, screensaver photos and cursors. Sometimes MyWebSearch can be downloaded onto your computer when you download other software, such as an instant messenger. Fortunately, you can uninstall MyWebSearch if you don’t want it.

      Double-click the “My Computer” icon on your computer’s desktop.

      Click “Control Panel.” Click “Add or Remove Programs”--or "Programs and Features" if using Windows Vista

      Select “MyWebSearch” by clicking on it within the programs list. Click the “Remove” or "Uninstall" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can simply hide MyWebSearch from your browser by clicking “View,” “Toolbars” and then removing the checkmark next to “MyWebSearch.”

  • Errors could occur if you interrupt your computer while it’s uninstalling MyWebSearch.
