How to Download a YouTube Video to MP3
If you listen to a YouTube Video that has a song on it you really like, you can usually only listen to the song again through your web browser since the file doesn't save permanently to your computer. The solution for this problem is to use some capture software or websites to save a copy of the video in MP3 format on your computer. This eliminates the video portion of the file and saves only the audio.

Navigate to Zamzar (see Resources). Click "Download Videos" from the tabs at the top of the site. Enter your email address in the textbox on the site. Paste the YouTube address of the video you want into the URL textbox. Select "MP3" from the "Convert to" drop-down menu,. Click "Convert," check your email, and click the link there to download the MP3 file.

Open ConvertFiles in your browser. Click the "Or Download It From" circle in the main page. Paste your YouTube address into the textbox there. Select "MP3 (extract audio only)" from the "Output Format" menu. Click "Convert" and then click the link it creates to get your file.

Download and install Free YouTube to MP3 Converter (see Resources). Paste your YouTube address into the box in the program that reads "Input your URLS." Click the "Browse" button to select the folder where your MP3 file will end up. Click "Download" to transfer the audio portion of the video to that folder.
