How to Change the Download Speed in Firefox
When you download a file in most Internet applications, the application automatically attempts to download at the maximum possible speed. This is also true of Mozilla Firefox. However, Firefox does not take the other programs that you may be running into account, and if you download a file in Firefox while simultaneously downloading another file with another program such as a BitTorrent client, you may find that Firefox reduces the download speed of the other application. While you cannot raise the download speed in Firefox past the speed of your Internet connection, you can use an add-on called Firefox Throttle to lower the download speed if necessary.
