How to Find Nonprofits in Ohio
Finding a nonprofit organization in the state of Ohio may be necessary if you are hoping to donate goods to a local charity or organization. Learning this information is also useful if you want to volunteer at an Ohio nonprofit, or if you are moving to Ohio and hoping to find a job at a nonprofit organization. Utilizing the Internet to find Ohio nonprofit organizations allows you to narrow your search by types of organization or by the exact location of the nonprofits.

Visit the "Find Organizations" page at Idealist.org.

Click the "Nonprofit" option located to the right of "Non-profit/government" option. Click the "Area of Focus" box and select one of the listed nonprofit categories. Doing so narrows down the results to the selected category and is optional.

Choose "United States" inside the "Country" drop-down menu.

Enter "Ohio" inside the "State or Province" box.

Type in the name of an Ohio town in the "City or Town" box, or an Ohio zip code inside the "Postal Code" box. This narrows the results to local nonprofit organizations and is also optional.

Select either "By Date" or "Alphabetically" next to "Sort Results" on the page. This determines how the results appear on the screen after you've completed the search.

Choose one of the four languages inside the "Posted In" box. Then, click "Search." A list of Ohio nonprofit organizations appears. Click the name of a non-profit organization to read the contact information for the organization.

Type in an Ohio zip code inside the blank text box located above the "Submit" button on the page.

Click "Submit." A list of nonprofit organizations that share the zip code you entered in step 2 appear on the page.

Click the name of a nonprofit to learn the exact location of that non-profit.

Type in the name of an Ohio city or an Ohio zip code inside the text box labeled "Location." Those typing in a city must enter ", OH" after the city name (For example "Cleveland, OH").
