How to Sync Bookmarks in Google

Google Chrome allows you to sync your bookmarks with your Google account. This provides the ability to access your bookmarks practically anywhere, even when using public computers. You must enable the feature on your home computer. Once it has been enabled, bookmarks sync with your Google account automatically. This can be beneficial for a number of reasons and does not require any special software or plugins.

      Close all instances of Google Chrome. Create a shortcut to Google Chrome on your desktop if you do not have one. Here's how: Click on the "Start" icon and locate Google Chrome from the program list. Right-click on the icon in the program list and select "Send to" then click on "Desktop (create shortcut)."

      Right-click on the Google Chrome desktop shortcut icon and choose "Properties." Click on the "Shortcut" tab and add the text "--enable-sync" to the "Target" field. Ensure that you do not delete the information in the "Target" field. Note that you must add a space before inputting the sync flag so that the text there looks similar to (your file path may be slightly different from the example):

      C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --enable-sync

      Start Google Chrome by double-clicking on the newly created desktop icon. Click on "Tools" and select "Sync my bookmarks." Enter your Google account username and password and allow the browser to import your bookmarks.

      Access your synced bookmarks by visiting Google Docs on any computer. Sign in using the same username and password that you used when syncing the bookmarks and click on the "Google Chrome" folder. Double-click the bookmark to open it in your browser.
