How to Use Headphones With a Yamaha Receiver
Yamaha audio-video receivers are equipped with a standard 1/4-inch audio jack in the front of the component for private listening through headphones. This jack can accommodate any standard set of headphones with a 1/4-inch plug on the end of the cable, or an adapter available at electronics stores can be used to convert the jack to work with the 1/8-inch mini-plug common on headphones designed for personal audio devices such as an iPod or MP3 player.
