How to Protect the Pictures & Text on a Website from Downloading by Other Users
Protecting the text and images you post on a website can be difficult. In fact, the most you may accomplish is to discourage those who might want to steal your content, since there is no fool-proof way to block them if someone is determined to take your information. Still, if you put in place enough barriers, you can lessen the likelihood of someone using your text and images as their own.

1
Insert HTML code in your web page editor that prevents right-clicking to make it more difficult for visitors to select either images or text for copying. Various versions of this code are available on many sites across the Internet. The downside of this is that people who have a legitimate reason for right-clicking, such as a journalist wanting to review your site and use a quote, will be unable to.
-
2
Optimize your images for the web, making them small and low resolution, to make your images less desirable; your pages will also load faster.

-
3
Add watermarks to the images you add to your site. Create watermarks using one of many available graphics programs that will make it obvious the images have been stolen if someone else uses them.
-
4
Include legal statements at the bottom of the web page making it clear any infringement of intellectual property rights will result in legal action.
