How to Block Pop Up Ads on Firefox
Pop-up ads are an annoyance that hinder the Internet browsing experience. As Internet marketing and consumer targeting become more savvy, pop-up ads are becoming increasingly prevalent. Firefox does offer its users, however, the possibility to block those pesky pop-up ads when using the browser.

Open the Firefox browser and click on the word "Firefox" in the upper, left-hand corner of the browser window, on the menu bar.

Scroll down the list of options that appear and click on "Preferences." A small box (yes, a pop-up) will appear on the screen, listing a number of Firefox settings that can be adjusted.

Locate the "Content" icon along the top the box and click on it with your mouse. This will change the list of settings that are displayed in the box.

Click on the box next to the "block pop-up windows" list option, which should be located at the top of the list. The box should now be checked, which means Firefox will now block all pop-up ads and windows.

Tips & Warnings
If you're on a website that uses pop-up windows, and you need to make use of them, Firefox will allow you to do so. When the browser blocks a pop-up window, it will display a small message near the top of the browser window, along with the option to allow pop-ups on that particular website.
