Decorations Made With Candy

Liven up a dinner party, birthday bash or reception table with colorful candy topiary trees. Handmade candy decor pieces make whimsical centerpieces. Save money by using inexpensive sweet treats, along with a few basic craft items, to design your party decorations. Choose candy according to the type of holiday or special event you are celebrating; for instance, candy hearts make a romantic statement while pastel-hued confections signify spring.

Things You'll Need

• Foam cone
• Flat-backed candy pieces
• Hot glue gun
• Star figurine or ribbon bow (optional)
• Candle stick or cake stand

Instructions

1. Unwrap the candy pieces.

2. Glue the candy pieces to a foam craft cone with a hot glue gun. Start gluing the pieces at the bottom of the cone and work your way up row by row. Completely cover the cone with candy pieces.

3. Glue a piece of candy to the top of the cone or place a small gold or silver star figurine or a ribbon bow in place of the candy.

4. Set the candy-enhanced foam cone on an elegant silver, gold or ceramic candle stick. Place a larger foam cone on a pedestal-style cake stand.
