Natural stone flooring can be used either indoors or outdoors, as a flooring option in your great room or an option for an outdoor patio area. The natural stone gives the area a natural, neutral look that many homeowners enjoy and appreciate. To keep the stone looking its best, you need to clean the floors just as you would with any other floor type. This can be done with a few cleaning ingredients, all of which are inexpensive and easy to obtain.
Things You'll Need
- Vacuum cleaner or broom
- Dish soap
Vacuum or sweep your stone floor regularly, as this will lift crumbs and dust that builds up daily.
Run a cleaning mop under warm water, and wring out the mop.
Mop the natural stone with the damp mop to remove sticky residue.
Fill a bucket with 1 tbsp. mild dish soap and 1 gallon warm water.
Swish the cleaning mop in this soapy water, and wring it out once more. Wipe the mop over your natural stone floor.
Rinse the mop with clear water, and wipe over the stone again to get rid of the soap. Dry the floors with a towel when finished.
