How to Wire Audiobahn Subwoofers

Audiobahn is a producer of high-performance subwoofers for car audio applications. Audiobahn subwoofers have a set of push-to-open terminals mounted on the basket of the subwoofer that are used for connecting to a car amplifier via speaker wire. Wiring an Audiobahn subwoofer is a fairly simple job, but to ensure the highest performance, it's necessary to make the wiring connections properly.

Instructions

    • 1

Grasp the ends of the speaker cable that is connected to the amplifier and pull the end of the cable over to the location of the subwoofer.

    • 2

Remove 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of each of the two separate leads of the speaker cable. This is not necessary if the ends of the speaker wire are already bare.

    • 3

Push down on the subwoofer's speaker terminal that is color-coded red until a hole appears in the post of the terminal. Slide the bare end of the wire marked "+" or color-coded red into the opening and release the pressure on the terminal so the terminal closes on the wire and holds it in place.

    • 4

Push down on the subwoofer's speaker terminal that is color-coded black until a hole appears in the post of the terminal. Slide the bare end of the wire marked "-" or color-coded black into the opening and release the pressure on the terminal so the terminal closes on the wire and holds it in place.
