Instructions

    • 1

Check the tag on your rabbit wool sweater for washing instructions. If the tag says dry clean only, stop immediately and take the sweater to a professional dry cleaner. If the tag says that you can wash it, continue.

    • 2

Fill a tub, sink or container with warm water. Mix in a laundry detergent meant for gentle wash, such as Woolite or Dreft. Follow specific product instructions for the amount of detergent to use, as recommendations can vary by product.

    • 3

Place the sweater into the soapy water; if you have multiple sweaters, wash only one at a time. Let the sweater become thoroughly wet but do not soak it.

    • 4

Gently agitate the sweater in the water. Do not stretch or wring the fabric. If necessary, rub gently with your fingers or with a clean, white, soft cloth to remove any stains.

    • 5

Remove the sweater from the water. Lay the sweater flat on a soft white cotton towel and roll the towel up over the sweater to remove excess water.

    • 6

Unroll the towel and flatten the sweater against it. Lay the towel in a cool, dry area away from direct heat and sunlight so that the sweater can safely dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are not confident about your ability to carefully hand wash your sweater, take it to a professional dry cleaner.

  • Do not machine wash or dry wool sweaters. Machine washing will cause significant shrinking or deforming of the wool material.
