A white board, also called a dry-erase board, is a lightweight message board that has almost replaced the messy chalkboards. They are hung and used in classrooms, board rooms, kitchens and college dorms. The board is covered in a white plastic coating and when dry-erase markers are used to write on it, they are easy to wipe off with a dry cloth or dry eraser.
Things You'll Need
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- Drill and bit
- Suction cups
- Tape measure
- Saw-toothed picture hangers
- Flush mounts
Apply double-sided adhesive tape to the backside of a small whiteboard and hang on the outside of a door or on a wall. Colleges do not want nails or holes damaging the walls or doors and the adhesive tape is strong enough to hold up a lightweight whiteboard.
Drill small holes into the corners or the whiteboard and attach suction cups to the board through the holes. You can attach the suction cups to the refrigerator or to the inside of a window. Turn the suction cups around and place on a window facing out; this is great for advertising menus or sales in a store window or giving information when selling a car.
Screw saw-toothed picture brackets to the frame of the board and measure the distance between the two brackets. Nail two small nails to the wall and hang the whiteboard on the brackets.
Attach extra thin, flush mounts to large whiteboards and hang on the wall. Screw the bottom side of the flush mount to the wall preferably to a stud for better stability. You can use one or two mounts depending on how large the whiteboard is. For two mounts, you will need to measure in between the mounts on the wall and then mark the place needed to mount the other half to the board. Screw into the board securely and hang on the wall.
