How Do I Enable Scrolling Wallpaper?

The Windows 7 operating system allows you to choose multiple images to act as a "scrolling" wallpaper collection. Instead of simply displaying the same image as your desktop background at all times, Windows 7 will scroll through the images you select after a predetermined amount of time, always giving you something new to look at. This feature is a native function that requires no additional software to use.

  • Right click on your desktop. Click "New" and "Folder." Name the new folder you have just created.

  • Place any desktop wallpaper images that you'd like to use in your scrolling wallpaper collection into this new folder.

  • Right click on your desktop. Click "Personalize."

  • Click "Desktop Background." Click the "Browse" button. Select the image-filled new folder that you created in Step 1.

  • Choose a number from the "Change Picture Every" dropdown menu to specify exactly how long you'd like each image to remain on your desktop wallpaper. Every time your Windows clock passes the specified amount of time you choose, it will change to another picture in the folder you selected. Also, click the "Shuffle" button if you'd like pictures to be selected randomly. Leave it unchecked if you'd like the pictures to change in the order they are in the folder.

  • Click "Save Changes." The Windows 7 operating system will now scroll through your selected images, always giving you a fresh image as your desktop wallpaper.
