How to Customize Mozilla Thunderbird
Mozilla Thunderbird is an email client that allows users to import and manage their current email account. Created by the same team who came up with the Firefox web browser, Thunderbird can be downloaded free of charge from the Mozilla website. Thunderbird is exceptionally simple to set up, but there are a lot of other customization options that allow users to personalize the Thunderbird experience.

Switch between different folder view methods by clicking "View" and then "Folders." Select either "All," "Unread," "Favorites" or "Recent." Another way to switch folder views is by clicking on the left and right arrows that appear in the folder.

Add or remove buttons to the toolbar by clicking "View," "Toolbars" and then "Customize." Drag and drop icons into the toolbar to add them or drag and drop icons out of the toolbar to remove them.

Turn off the notification that appears when new mail arrives by clicking "Tools," "Options" and then "General." Check or uncheck the boxes labeled "Show an alert" and "Play a sound."

Remove a legitimate message from the program's list of spammers, click the button that says "Not a Scam" when viewing the message. This will prevent messages from this sender from being blocked in the future.

View expanded columns in the folder window by clicking "Tools," "Options," "Advanced" and "General." Put a check mark in the box that says "Show expanded columns in the folder pane," then click the "OK" button. Click on the icon that appears on top of the mail folders to select the items displayed.

Add items to the "Favorite" folder by right-clicking on a folder and selecting "Favorite Folder." To remove items from the "Favorite" folder, right-click the item and click on "Favorite Folder" to uncheck the option.
