Based in New York City, the Majesti Watch Company, sometimes called the Majestime Watch Company, is a wholesaler of high quality fashion wrist and pocket watches. According to the Clock and Watchmakers of the World website, the Majesti Watch Company distributed Majesti pocket watches in the United States from 1990 to 2001. When the battery in your Majesti pocket watch dies, you can spend money to have it replaced by a professional jeweler or you can replace the battery yourself for very little cost or effort.
Things You'll Need
- Neoprene mouse pad
- Optical-sized flathead screwdriver
- Replacement watch battery
Change your Majesti pocket watch battery in a quiet room that is free of distractions. Select a room with a clean, flat, well-lit work surface where you can perform your pocket watch repair. Cushion the work surface with a neoprene mouse pad.
Lay your Majesti pocket watch face-down on top of the neoprene mouse pad so that you can examine the back of the watch case to determine how to open it.
Open Majesti pocket watches with screw-down case backs by using an optical-sized flathead screwdriver to remove the four screws that hold the back of the watch case in place. Set the screws and the back of the pocket watch aside for now. Open Majesti pocket watches with snap-on case backs by inserting the tip of an optical-sized flathead screwdriver underneath the edge of the watch back. Gently work the optical-sized flathead screwdriver back and forth until you are able to pry off the back of the watch case. Set aside the back of the watch case.
Remove the dead watch battery from the round battery compartment in your Majesti pocket watch. Make a note of the type of battery your pocket watch uses and then discard the spent battery. Recycle the old pocket watch battery if recycling facilities are available in your area.
Purchase a replacement watch battery for your Majesti pocket watch at your local retail or jewelry store.
Insert the replacement battery into the battery compartment of your Majesti pocket watch.
Replace the back of the pocket watch case. Reinsert and tighten the screws to secure screw-down watch backs. Pinch snap-on pocket watch cases between your fingers until you hear the pieces snap together.
