Troubleshooting Java Download in Windows XP

Java is a programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. It is used to navigate interactive and high-resolution content both on the Internet as well as on computer games. One of the common issues with Java download is errors during installation. You may receive a dialog box with error codes like 1305, 2755, 1606, etc. There are ways to troubleshoot these errors both during and after installation.

      Update your Java download. If you have downloaded Java long time ago, then you may want to update the program to troubleshoot the download. Java updates frequently and it is highly recommended to keep it updated for optimal performance. Click on the Java icon (with an image of a coffee cup) on your notification area next to the clock to search for updates. If there is an available update, it will ask for your permission. Click on "OK" or "Update" to initiate the update.

      Reinstall Java. Your Java install may get corrupt due to system or user errors. In such cases, the best way to troubleshoot it is by reinstalling Java for its website (see Resources). Click on "Free Java Download" to reinstall the latest version of Java.
