How to Block an IP Address From Emailing a Yahoo User

If you block an IP address, it won't be able to email your Yahoo account.

An IP address is the exact address for a computer. If an IP address is giving you trouble, you can block the address. If you use Yahoo Email on your computer, you can also block the IP address from emailing your Yahoo Account.

Instructions

1. Determine the IP address of the person whom you wish to block.

2. Click on your Yahoo Mail Account.

3. Click on "contact us."

4. Send an email to Yahoo with your concerns. If they see a reason to block the IP address, they can do so in their system.

5. Open your email account and go to your options. Find "Blacklist" or "Block List" based on the version of Yahoo you are using. Add the person's email address into the block list so they will not be able to email you. Be sure to add all of the email addresses that the IP address uses to email you.

6. Call your Internet Service Provider. Tell them that someone is bothering you and you need to have an IP address blocked. Your ISP can manually block users by ISP address. This will prevent someone from contacting you at your own computer.
