A homemade photo candle makes a personalized piece of home decor, as well as a lovely gift for friends and family. Just pick a beloved picture, put it on a candle and you'll have an appealing, one-of-a-kind creation you. Use different shapes and sizes of candles and photos, and add ribbons, stickers or other embellishments to further personalize your photo candle.
Things You'll Need
- Vellum paper
- White candle
- Wax paper
- Heat gun or blow dryer
- Ribbons, stickers or other embellishments
Print a copy of your photo on vellum paper, which you can find at any craft store. Cut the picture as you wish, making sure it will fit on your candle.
Place the photo on the candle in the position of your choice.
Wrap the wax paper carefully around the candle and photo. Ensure that the waxed side of the paper is facing the photograph. Pull it taut.
Heat the photo through the wax paper covering, using either a hair dryer or a heating gun. Blow the heat, set on high, all around the edges and surface of the photo for about 10 to 15 seconds.
Peel the wax paper off of the photo and make sure the photo is anchored to the candle. If it is not, repeat Step 4 until the photo is securely attached to the candle.
Decorate your candle by tying ribbons around it, placing stickers on it or inserting rhinestones into it.
