How to Create Invitations for a Boys 1st Birthday Party
Your son's first birthday is a significant milestone in his life, and many parents commemorate the event with a birthday party. Draw family and friends to your party with invitations they can enjoy and keep as souvenirs for years to come. Whether hosting a small, intimate party or an event on a larger scale, you can design and make personalized invitations for this special occasion. Take a picture of your 1-year-old. Upload the picture to your computer.

Open your graphics program. Name and save the file so you can work in it without losing your information.

Select the size card you want to make. Typically, the sizes are quarter-page or half-page cards.

Select the page orientation you need, either landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical).

Place a large number 1 graphic in the center of the card's cover.

Position your child's picture over the number 1. The picture should be about one-third the size of the number.

Drag a headline or text box over the top of the number. Write "Guess Who Is Turning" in the box.

Drag a headline or text box under the number. Write your child's first name in the box.

Click inside the card to add more information.

Type on the left side of the page important information like the time, date and place the party will be held.

Type on the right side of the page a personal note from the party throwers to invited guests. It should say something like, "Ryan has invited a clown to come entertain his friends. Please come!"

Save the file and print the card. If your printer does not have a duplex printing option, then print one side, turn the card and then print the other side.
