Instructions

    • 1

Fill your gas tank up. This is important because the fuel injector cleaner is a chemical that your car is not meant to run on and the less gas in the tank, the more diluted with cleaner your fuel will be. If too much cleaner passes through the engine, your car will run poorly and could stall. The more gas in the tank before adding the fuel injector cleaner, the less concentrated the mixture will be, allowing your car enough gas to keep going.

    • 2

Pour an entire bottle of fuel injector cleaner into the gas tank.

    • 3

Drive your car as normal and do not refuel until the tank is just about empty. This will ensure that you get an optimal mixture of gas and fuel injector cleaner, as adding gas too early will disrupt the ratio of fuel injector cleaner to gas and will not clean your fuel injectors properly. Another reason not to refill your tank too soon is that as your tank empties, the fuel injector cleaner will be able to clean out the deposits that sit at the bottom of your gas tank.

Tips & Warnings

  • Even with the proper ratio, there will be times when your car doesn't run so well, this is because there is no perfect way to mix the gas and fuel injector cleaner in the tank and you will get a bad mix on occasion.

  • It's a good idea to bring a full gas can with you in case your are not used to letting your car get down to empty and end up running out of gas because you pushed it too far.
