Things You'll Need
- 1 quart water
- 1 quart corn syrup
- Wooden spoon
- Metal pot
- Large spatula
- 1 or more glass containers with lid (Mason jars preferred)

Put your pot onto a stove burner and pour 1 quart corn syrup and 1 quart water into it, stirring with a wooden spoon for roughly three minutes.

Set the stove burner to high heat and stir the substances with your wooden spoon until it looks something like a paste. Once it is in this form, free of any resemblance to corn syrup or water, you are finished stirring.

Place the pot onto a cool area and let it sit still for roughly 10-15 minutes, giving the paste time to cool down and settle.

Gather the substance with your spatula, place it in a jar and store it in a safe place.

Tips & Warnings
The stick glue lasts approximately three months. Therefore, make a small batch the first time so you will not waste corn syrup.
Never leave the sticky glue unattended if you have children.

I hope I can find a substitute for corn syrup. maybe glucose will do.

I tried your recipe but as I expected, the "glue" became hard even faster than regular glue, so it's useless. The pot looks like it's ruined. I'll "stick" to the ones you get at the dollar store. When you add up the time spent to make this and clean up the mess, the cost of boiling for 10-15 mins and the corn syrup, all for something that doesn't work, getting those $1 traps is a no brainer.

This is totally inhumane way of dealing with these little creatures. They stick to the glue and cannot get free unless they chew off a leg or rip the skin from their body. It does not kill them so either they are left to die a slow and painful death or the trapper kills it ... a life is life no matter in what form and therefore we should treat it with the dignity and respect it deserves, it feels fear and pain like anyone else. Be kinder please.
