Select baby bottles that fit the color scheme of your party. If you know the sex of the baby, buy bottles to match (typically pink for a girl shower, blue for a boy). If you will only be using the bottles to decorate, pick up inexpensive ones from your local dollar store. If you plan to give them to the parents to feed the new baby, pay a little more for bottles worth using.
If you are using baby blocks to decorate, you'll need to get at least two sets to spell words like "baby", "mom" and "dad." These words all use the same letters twice so one set won't quite cut it.

Attach empty bottles to ribbons and hang them around the room for decoration, or fill them with jelly beans and tie balloons to them so they function as balloon weights. Count the number of jelly beans you fill the bottles with and ask guests to guess the number of jelly beans. The closest guess without going over wins a prize.
Place blocks in a pile in the middle of a table and ask guests to quickly pull some out and try to make a baby-related word. Or set them around on table tops, spelling out guest or family names, baby terms or other pertinent words. Use them as place cards, spelling out each guest's initials to mark their seat at the table.

Fill sturdy bottles with small bouquets of fresh flowers to sit around the party space. Place blocks around the table next to the bouquets to create pleasing displays that are simple, but exude a baby feel to them. Use them as table centerpieces or other decorations to enhance the look of your party.

Tips & Warnings
Let function override fashion here. Spend a little more for quality items that can really be used when the party is over. If you have to buy a large number of bottles and blocks to decorate, consider donating some of them to a local charity after the party is over.
